I was on my way to a friend’s place the other day. It was around10 at night and I was sitting at a bus stop in front of “HELPING HAND”.
“The Helping Hand was founded in 1987 as a Christian halfway house for the rehabilitation and aftercare of ex-drug addicts. As of 2006, we have opened our doors to ex-criminal offenders as well. The Helping Hand is a registered Voluntary Welfare Organization (VWO) in Singapore.”
As I stared at the glary lights, trying to catch my bus, a taxi suddenly came to a halt in front of the bus stop. For a moment I thought that the taxi driver was trying to see if I need a cab. As a look further into the cab, I saw a lady sitting in the front seat with 2 children at the back seat. She had a sad face and she was starring into the buildings of Helping Hands. The Taxi driver just drove very slowly past the bus stop.
It seems as though the man the lady loves is in the building, trying his best to quit his drug addiction. It saddened me to see such a scene. When we take drugs, those who were hurt most are usually the ones who truly love us.
Singapore wants to become a drug free country and I look forward to a drug free society. I admire the love of the lady for her man. So, let’s not make the people around us sad by doing foolish acts such as taking drugs.
Love is never a word but an action. Have you been trying to tell the one you love how much you treasure him/her? If not, tell your loves one that you truly treasure them TODAY!!

There’s a man dying on the side of the road,
Won’t make it home tonight.
He was driving fast on his cellular phone,
That’s how he lived his life.
And while he was hangin’ by a thread… Read More
these were the final words he said
My girl turns sweet sixteen today,
She’s beautiful, so beautiful.
It might get rough sometimes
but I hope she keeps her faith.(hope she keeps her faith)
I wish I grabbed a chance to say to her
Life is too short so take the time and appreciate
There’s a women crying on the kitchen floor,
She got a call tonight.
Now she’s trembling outside her daughter?s door
Walks in and holds her tight
Wondering how and where to start,
Is there a way to shield her heart?
My girl turns sweet sixteen today,
She’s beautiful, so beautiful.
It might get rough sometimes but I hope she keeps her faith.(hope she keeps her faith)
I wish I grabbed the chance to say to her
Life is too short so take the time and Appreciate
Any but a loving way
It heard along the way
Don’t be afraid to open up
And use the time you have before it fades
Show your love today
My girl turns sweet sixteen today,
She’s beautiful, so beautiful.
it might get rough sometimes
but I hope she keeps her faith.(hope she keeps her faith)
I wish I grabbed
chance to say to her

A sharing from Judson:
I do not know why but I just feel the urge to share my random thought with you today.
Have you ever felt pain before? Is pain really THAT painful? In my opinion, the anticipation of pain is often more painful than pain itself. Remember the times when you were in school queuing up and waiting for your turn to take your jab, wasn’t the wait more painful than then the actual injection?
I can still remember very clearly the incident when my dog Gogo pass away at the age of 12 years old due to stomach twist (the same “illness” that happened to the dog in the movie Marley and Me). It is so painful to lose someone we loved so much. The moment before her death was so much more painful than her death itself.
In life, we often face painful and difficult moments. Ups and downs but all I can summarize about life is “Life goes on”. This may sound pretty mundane but its true that life just goes on.
When we are facing set backs, there are often nothing much we could do but look into the eyes our failures, take a deep breathe and move on. It’s often useless to ponder upon a problem that had already happened. Worrying is like crying over spilled milk.
Therefore, you shouldn’t worry so much as worrying would not help you solve any problems.
Most problems in life can be resolved. My personal greatest fear is the fear of losing those that I hold dear in my life. I am learning everyday to appreciate those around me while they are around.
It is too late to appreciate someone after they had left you. Let them know how precious they are to you today!
Ps. I find it almost funny to sometimes see people who do not appreciate their loved yet held a grand funeral for them after they passed away.
Sorry for the lack of updates recently. I had an emotional roller coaster last week. My dog passed away after living a full ripe age of 13 years with my family and me. I was there when she took her last breathe.
This experience saddens me but this is life. Some say my dog is like a family member. To us, she IS a family member. After she was gone, I kept having this empty feeling. My only consolation was that I had really loved my dog and had spent plenty of time loving and playing with her.
This incident really reminds me to spend more time with those who are important to me. At the end when lying upon the deathbed, you will not want to be surrounded by your certificates of achievements nor surrounded by mountains of cash. You will want to be with your loved ones.
Have you ever lost anyone who is very important to you? Did you treasure them while they were still around? Lets spend more time with our loved ones before its too late.
I had read this book titled “THE LAST LECTURE” by Randy Pausch. It is an amazing book and an easy read. This book was written during the last few months of his life before he died of complications from pancreatic cancer. Do read up his book when you have the chance.
“ We cannot change the cards we are dealt, just how we play the hand.” Randy Pausch
I wrote this while accompanying my dog on her last journey.
Goodbyes are always hard to say
Goodbyes are always hard to say
Knowing we’ll never meet again
There is no easy way to say goodbye
But I know this day will come
The way you look at me
I know you do not want to leave
But there are things bigger than us
Take each breathe as it comes
A heartbeat at a time
I promise I will always remember
Our precious memories
There is no easy way to say goodbye
No good timing to bid farewells
I know you had to go
Just remember the beautiful times we shared.

GOGO 1996 - 09.04.09, Goodbyes are always hard to say.
Imagination is more important than knowledge, for knowledge is limited while imagination embraces the entire world.
– Albert Einstein
I always believe that the world would not be in her current state without the imaginations of great minds. You can make what you imagined possible. If no one ever imagined the possibilities of a flying machine, we wouldn’t have airplanes . If no one imagine a machine that can take us from one place to another, we will still be walking. Do not kill your imagination. One day your imagination may change the world.
How are you? Have you been busy supporting your favorite athletes and team through out the Olympic season for the past few weeks? I hope the athlete or team that you supported have won in their respective events. With the ending of the Olympics game, it is leading us slowly into the month of September 2008.
For this month, the theme of Blue & Pink calendar wallpaper is on “You light up my world” As you go through life journey, occasionally, you might pass through phases of darkness due circumstances beyond or within your control. However, I believe that there is always something that will light up your world throughout this “dark period”; your loved ones.

Just like what is happening in this month wallpaper, it is drizzling and the night is dark. However, Faith still very much enjoys the outing that Hope had organized for the both of them. The reason is simply that it is not so much of where we are heading in life but the people who heading together with. I hope that just like in the wallpaper, the fireflies had brought dims of light to the dark night. Similarly, you could be the “fireflies” that light up the dark night of your loved ones just by showing more care and concern. Love begins with us.

Judson’s note: When I was doing this design, I did some research and found out that fireflies like to hang out at moist area, often at some pond. That is the reason why I chose a wet weather so that it could bring more discomfort to Hope and Faith but the contrast is when they are fully enjoying themselves.
Or maybe it had been raining a lot recently and sub-consciously made me come up with a rainy weather for Hope and Faith. Nevertheless, I am very happy with the painting and the effects of the night time. I really hope that you enjoy this wallpaper as much as I was drawing it. Cheers and have a nice day ahead
I caught Iron Man a while back when it hit the cinema. It was a fantastic movie and I really like it.
I just had a little free time and I did a quick scribble. It’s my imagination of Hope wearing Iron Man suit and I just wanna share it with you. Hahaha !! Meanwhile, you take care and have a nice day ahead. Cheers.
How have you been? I have been busy with quite a number of things lately. I shall not list them here one by one as they are just too boring…
Last month, most of my free time was spent watching Tennis Matches on television. The French Open tournament came to a close last Sunday With Rafeal Nadell being crowned the overall champion for the tournament. I began watching tennis about a year ago and started playing tennis at the beginning of this year. I love the sport and always looking forward to my next tennis game with my friends.
In my opinion, Tennis is a great sport. To me, it is a very engaging game with yourself and the person you are playing with getting really stretched out to out beat each other in the game. In addition, I do think that It is also a fun sport that requires lots of running and for me a relatively “newbie” in this game, lots of tennis balls picking as well..haha..
From time to time, I do encourage my friends to get out into the open to have some fun under the sun. In my view, it is much healthier to have a little bit of sunshine everyday (Vitamin D is good for our bones =) ). By sweating it out regularly, it is also a good way to distress. Signing out for now and looking forward to getting in touch with you guys again, cheers and do have a nice day ahead of you.
On the forth day. I woke with a bad sore throat and bad flu.
Our programs were similar to what we had yesterday. I like the way the children look when they receive their presents. They were so excited and innocent. Those children are slightly different from the children I know at my place. They still enjoy the simplicity of life and games. They can have a lot of fun just by riding a bicycle or playing police and thief.
The people there are very down to earth. They still treasure the bond of friendships and gathering. Sometimes Sometimes it seems like we had lost the idea of building a loving house to building a luxurious one.
After the children program, we went for dinner. After dinner, we continued another youth program, with their age ranging from 12 – 18 years old. The whole program lasted till 10.30pm and by the time we wrap up our stuff, its already 11 plus. We reach back to our “home” at around 12am. The following day was a Sunday. We are done with our work and we can finally have a good rest. We were busy for almost 16 hours that day. Phew!
The previous night was a bad one. I woke up early the following morning at 6 am to use the toilet as we had 22 members but we only had 3 toilets.
After breakfast, we headed off to the church and held our programs. The program started at 9 in the morning and lasted till 6 in the evening. It was a full day event.
The whole day was action packed and at the end of the day, I was so tired but satisfied. We had a good dinner at this place where they serve some pretty popular food. We had frog legs, soft shell turtle soup, fried prawn, vegetables and a couple of other dishes and it only cost us RM$120 per table which is considered very cheap.
I will let you know more about what did on the last day of the event. Take care and have fun.
